Since she was a year old, she loved to stretch. She would mimic yoga moves and practice them on her own time. This love of movement has grown into a love for ballet. It will be a joyful and difficult road ahead. Ballet is not just an art form but it is also an exacting discipline, mentally and physically. Is she up to the task? We will see how God leads and provides for her.

Nature Hike: Etiwanda Falls for the 4th Time?
About a week ago, we attacked Etiwanda Falls for the 4th time with an old junior/senior high school friend of mine. Can you believe I've known her over 20 years? Yes, I know. That certainly dates me.
The girls with their new friends.
Starting up the 1.5 miles uphill...
S and I are dragging woefully behind. Well, there was a 25 pound monkey on my back.
Aaaahhh, the refreshing rushing stream!
A lookout break before the descent.
One last break before we hit the end of the trail.
Adversity does bind people together, for by the end of the journey, the children were all holding hands.
The baby was so thirsty. He had been too distracted from finishing his bottle during the hike but made up for it in no time at the end. Thanks Auntie J for giving him a little love.

A Newborn and Her Perfections
I am so fascinated with babies. Their folds, wrinkles, swollen eyes, little fingers and toes and even their little cries remind me of what is really important in life. In them lies hope, possibility, and promise. Their utter dependence on us and their simple devotion are both overwhelming yet moving and tear-jerking. It is hard not to love them and bathe them with all the protection and affection that the world can give. Congrats to E for her lovely baby.
