Candelight Service

The Sunday evening before Christmas day, our church ends the evening worship time with a time of singing hymns in candlelight.  This past Sunday was no different.

The moon was out along with some stars and clouds.

We began by singing some hymns in the regular light.

And then we lined up to pick up a candle for singing in the dark.

The sanctuary got dimmer

and dimmer.

Finally, only the area behind the chancel was lit.

Carefully, we held our candles and sang a capella.

After the special time of singing, we were directed to the nicely decorated fellowship hall to eat.

The pulled pork was delicious.

It was a not a night for dieting.

A warm and fuzzy evening indeed.

Strolling through Providence Christian College

I had the privilege of doing a photo-shoot for a fun family the other weekend.  Their photo-shoot is forthcoming.  I wanted to introduce them by giving you the context of their family and professional life which is centered around Providence Christian College, a fledgling Reformed Christian College in the lovely city of Pasadena, CA.  It shares its campus with William Carey International University.

We met on a lovely day after Thanksgiving.

The library area...

Yes, leaves do change color in California!

Lavender could be found everywhere...
